Olivia, a Franco-American writer, returns to her ancestral village in the south of France to write the story of her grandmother, who fled Paris during the Nazi invasion during World War II. As a number of strange coincidences ensue, fiction and reality intermingle uncannily, and Olivia starts to ask whether she's part of history's unfolding story, or vice-versa.
